Quite often, when I feel the urge to go to the bathroom, I think of Spider-Man. That probably sounds quite strange, so let me explain. I’ve always had this childhood memory of a Spider-Man comic that I read when I was about 10 years old, where Spider-Man taught somebody how to go to the bathroom. To a 10 year old kid that’s pretty funny, and it sticks with you. I remembered it was ‘some cosmic guy’ who arrived on Earth and didn’t know Earth customs and apparently became bound to some of Earth’s physical and biological traits. My memory is that he said something like “What’s this strange warm sensation in my stomach” and then Spider-Man had a bit of back and forth trying to work out what the guy meant and then Spidey awkwardly explaining to him.

I couldn’t remember which book or storyline it came from though, so I thought I would hunt for it online so that I could read it again and see just what happened. I managed to find it extremely in this similar blog post here. I remember some of the panels clear as day, even though it’s been around 25-30 years since I read it. But it turns out my memory was a slightly false memory. The bathroom conversation actually only lasts for a few panels and The Beyonder just says something about a strange pressure and a fullness in his abdomen.

It’s still a pretty funny situation. You can see the pages below. Thanks again to ComicsBeat.com.
