This is a toyline I wasn’t too aware of to be honest. Grandstand Convertors. After doing a bit of research it seems they are part of that pre-Transformers world that I often get confused by. They are the UK version of a Diaclone toyline by Takara. Like a cross between Transformers and Voltron.
You’ve got to love the names though. Loads of names ending in ‘tron’ or ‘oid’. Including the awesomely named ‘Omegratron’.
Pretty cool A1 poster here. Got this one from eBay.

Some clarity if it helps.
Converters wasn’t pre-TF it was released parallel and sold right alongside it in some stores. Grandstand rode the transforming robot craze and licensed Takara product that Hasbrk passed on, including Diaclone and MicroMan, but also Toybox. Grandstand nabbed the license for “Omegatron” in the UK, meaning Hasbro could only release Omega Supreme in the US.

I’ve been trying to remember the name of this toy line for years!
I had the catalogue that grandstand produced for then, with their backstories.. sadly misplaced it many many years ago
