As explained before in my first post about Old Spectrum Mags that I’m going through all the old Your Spectrum and Your Sinclair magazines in the run up to the ZX Spectrum Next launch. Here’s my look at the highlights of Your Spectrum Issue 06 from August 1984.

All images are taken from the Internet Archive. Here is the full magazine if you want to take a closer look. Kudos to Jason Scott for uploading it. https://archive.org/details/your-spectrum-magazine-06

Pretty cool that they’re providing a fix for the big bug in Jet Set Willy in the page below. Possibly one of world’s earliest ‘patches’.

Very interesting software below to help people with dyslexia. Although I’m not sure that headline would get past a sub-editor today!

Guess what. Matthew Smith is holding the top two spots for yet another month. But he does have two Jet Pac games from Ultimate chasing up behind.

Not the best advert at the top of the below page for Oh Mummy! and Disco Dan. I do wonder who would order a game just from seeing a text description like that. I believe both of these two games later appeared in the Spectrum +2 bundle. Not bad games, but nothing special.

Very cool article below with a whole bunch of POKEs for Jet Set Willy. I can only imagine how exciting this would have been to get this issues back in the day.

This page below has a very interesting article in the bottom left, which may be the beginning of the myth behind the future Matthew Smith games Jet Set Willy Meets The Taxman and Miner Willy and Dr Jones.

Your Spectrum knocks it out the park again with a great article, map and tips around the classic Sabre Wulf.

What a random competition. Design an animated logo for Peter Stringfellow’s latest club, The Hippodrome!

Below are three game adverts from this issue. These were the best of the bunch!
