Today Marvel announced a plethora of new movies for Phase Three of their cinematic universe. Some had been hinted at, some were already set in stone, some were new. All of them are pretty darn exciting.
Avengers: Age of Ultron – the recent trailer looks like it is set to be another action packed ride filled with deeper meaning and relationships
Ant-Man – obviously there have been big changes in terms of who is making the film but the feedback has always been really good from previews at San Diego Comic Con
Captain America – Civil War – Cap and Iron Man going head to head? Sounds pretty good to me. I wonder if we’ll see the beginnings of it in Avengers: Age of Ultron. And I can’t imagine they’ll go for totally the same storyline from the comics. Interesting to see what angle they take
Doctor Strange – this could very well be an incredible film. Just depends how they approach it. It could be very different from all the other Marvel movies. I’d love to have some Defenders action. Hulk could be involved but sadly they don’t have the rights to the Silver Surfer. Maybe Namor or Luke Cage? Not sure if anyone else has the rights to them
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – more of what we got in the first film? Sounds good
Thor: Ragnarok – the destruction of Asgard? In the words of Fred Hembeck, Ragnarok’n’roll!
Black Panther – now, this is one I’m particularly excited about. Such a great character and I think it could make a truly awesome movie
Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2 – Giving the Avengers a two part finale sounds pretty damn good to me. Bringing the whole Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos tease to a climax is making me want to skip ahead 5 years right now
Captain Marvel – some people might not be too excited by this one but with Marvel’s track record I just think they could really do something quite cool here
Inhumans – this is another one that really excites me. I’ve always liked Black Bolt in particular and am looking forward to seeing these characters realised on screen
