I was a huge fan of Street Hawk and also a big BMX guy. So when Raleigh released the Vektar in 1985 it almost felt like you could have your very own Street Hawk style BMX! It was a BMX with a built in computer. You seriously couldn’t get much cooler than that. It is one of my holy grails and I still hope that one day I can get my hands on one.
Just check out this brochure from 1985. As a 9 yr old boy this stuff absolutely blew my tiny little mind. And despite what those kids are wearing on the cover, they still look incredibly cool riding their Raleigh Vektars.
Check out more brochures and leaflets of things from the 80s in our Ephemera section.
