The League of Extraordinary Bloggers is back. I had just missed out on becoming a regular contributor to the series back when Brian at Cool & Collected stopped the previous incarnation. But now it’s back and it’s called the Pop Culture League. You can find out more about the Pop Culture League here.

I’m a bit late with this first weekly post as I was on holiday last week, so this post is a bit rushed in order to fit it in. Apologies for the poor photo quality and display arrangement.

The theme of this week’s challenge is ‘Shelfie – take a pic or two of your favourite shelves’. I’m lucky enough to have a small room in the house that I’ve designated my office / man(person)cave / Retromash HQ. It’s very tight for space but I do have a few shelves on which to strategically display my proudiest/geekiest possessions. For the purpose of this post I focussed on half of one shelf unit. This equates to approximately 1/6th of my overall shelf space in my room. I’m generally not a collector of full collections. I’ve managed to control my completist tendencies, due to lack of finances and space, and instead I have an eclectic collection of random retro goodies. These shelves are just a small taste. The tip of the iceberg.

Shelfie

Let’s look at each shelf in slightly more detail.

Items on this shelf include Star Wars Pencil Toppers, M.A.S.K., Boba Fett, Weetabix Neet Weet Gang badges and sticker, WWF Theme Tunes cassette, Mario Bros and Donkey Kong Game & Watches, He-Man stickers, Return of the Jedi stickers, Garbage Pail Kids, Tomytronic 3D Thundering Turbo, Marvel Super Heroes Card Game, Dukes of Hazzard Wrist Racer, Burnin’ Key Car, Fall Guy Truck, Casio F-91, Casio Databank, Rubik’s Cube, Asterix toy leaflet, Transformers, Back to the Future Micro Machines.

Shelfie

This other shelf includes Game Boy, Competition Pro Joystick, Ram Man, He-Man, Skeletor, He-Man Action Transfers, Skeletor Lazer Blazer stickers, brick mobile phone, View-Master Show Beam, Hot Wheels Crack-Ups, A-Team Burnin’ Key Car, Rough Riders including A-Team van and K.I.T.T., Major Morgan, Streethawk x 2, Automan figure, Impossiball, Helmet Racer, Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior, K.I.T.T. Pow-R-Tron.

Shelfie

And I also love my art books. There’s some great ones here and I’ve outlined a few of them in this blog post about The Retromash Book List.

I’m long overdue a tidy up of all my shelf space, and once I do that I’m hoping to film a tour of my retro room. So stay tuned for that.

Thanks Brian for resurrecting the League and I hope to be a regular contributor this time. Check out all the other entries at this weeks’ Pop Culture League main post.
