This is an iconic and revolutionary gadget of the 70s and 80s. The ability to carry around a small cassette recorder and record audio was incredible at the time. My main memory of cassette recorders is using them to load games on to my 8-bit ZX Spectrum home computer. Next memory would be hooking it up to a record player and making mixtapes. The true mixtape expert would know to press the Pause button when you were changing records so that you didn’t record the click of the Stop button.
