I’ve been lucky enough to visit Las Vegas three times so far in my life. Once on a Uni field trip, once on a friend’s stag party and then also once with my wife on our honeymoon, nearly 8 years ago, when we drove Route 66. I did a bit of gambling each time and I’m proud to say I never left a loser. I’ve even since made one of the chips into a keyring.

There are lots of things that I like about Las Vegas and that make it special for me. Obviously there’s the gambling. I do enjoy a bit of blackjack, but I’ve got a local casino in the town where I live, and you can always do online gambling too such as on Bonus code Lottoland, so I’m not sure I would go back to Vegas just for the gambling.

There’s also live sports. I enjoy watching the UFC and it would be great to attend a live event in Vegas one day, but again, I’m probably happy watching it on the TV for now, or I could go to a live UFC event in the UK.

One of the main reasons I actually would go back to Vegas is just because of how crazy the actual place is. It’s like Disneyland for adults. It’s just such a bizarre place of neon and noise in the middle of the dessert. There’s no place like it. I love the buzz of it.

But also, each time I’ve been there I’ve missed out on some of the retro things happening there. So for me, that’s probably the main reason I’d like to go back. If I ever do get that chance to go back there are some places I would love to go. Unfortunately, however, quite a few retro or arcade things seem to have closed down recently. Here’s a list of some of the great past and present retro places that Vegas has/had to offer.

PAST
Star Trek: The Experience
This place looked awesome. It ran from 1998 to 2008 and it had loads of very cool Star Trek stuff in it. I’d love to speak to someone who attended it. Here’s a video walkthrough.

Classic Gaming Expo
I’ve heard extremely good things about this retro gaming event. It has been held 11 times between 1999 and 2014. Sadly it hasn’t been on since 2014 though. Here’s a video from 2010.

Insert Coins
I’m very sad this place has closed down. It looked extremely cool. Lots of arcade games, and a bar. One of the first ‘barcades’. Located on Fremont St. Here’s a video walkthrough of what it looked like.

PRESENT
Pinball Hall of Fame
This place has 152 pinball machines. That would just be an amazing sound.

The Neon Museum
Not quite my usual retro but this is some amazing Vegas history here. Very cool signs in this neon graveyard.

Hi-Scores Bar Arcade
It might not quite be the same as what Insert Coins was like, but this place still looks great.

I’m sure there are probably others too. I’ll keep researching. If I ever get to go back to Vegas I’ll be sure to do a review.
